Afro-Century Ranch

This 4,400 sq ft 4 bed, 4 bath home with a detached pool house was originally built in 1963. Located in a historic mid-century enclave of black affluence in Los Angeles, the house was a rich canvas upon which we completed a complete interior overhaul of the finishes, furniture, art, accessories, and fixtures throughout.

Executed in our signature style of bold maximalism, many elements allude to the residents’ ties to the film and television industry, like the row of salvaged multicolor theater seats in the sitting room and the collector’s grade original Japanese and Italian Star Wars posters hanging in the hallways.

The art we selected and installed throughout the entire home places an emphasis on black artists and cultural icons, like Seattle based artist Barry Johnson and the late Nick Davis.
