Aquilo Interiors is an Oakland-based Interior Design Studio that perfects the dreamy, immersive and boundless quality of evocative art. We are a high-energy, fast-paced studio that focuses on residential and hospitality design. We are currently searching for an innovative, vibrant, zealous and hairsplitting staff designer to join our team.

Works with the Principal throughout the phases of every project.

Will be involved in:

  • Project setup and administrative duties;

  • Sourcing FFE; hard and soft finishes;

  • Pricing and specification input in PM software;

  • Taking precise as-built measurements for floor plans;

  • Creating clear, notated drawings;

  • Creating design concepts according to clients’ needs;

  • Presenting developed design concepts to clients for assessment;

  • Working out project budgets and documenting of pertaining records;

  • Procurement for all projects, coordinating sample pick-ups + returns.

  • Follow-up support for clients after delivery;

  • Maintaining healthy, supportive relationships with prospects, customers and colleagues. 


  • 3-4 years of design experience at a residential Interior Design or Architecture firm

  • 3-4 years of project management for high-end residential remodels, renovations, & furniture-phase focused projects

  • Experience developing Construction Documents

  • Experience on construction sites; reviewing design details with construction team + arch team

  • Excellent Verbal & Communication Skills

  • Strong note-taking skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Keynote, Ivy Project Management Software

  • Strong social media skillset is a plus

  • Ability to wear MANY HATS. (At times, everyone does everything. Teamwork makes the dream work & flexibility is valued here.)

  • Car, valid driver’s license, and insurance. Mileage is reimbursed.

  • Must have personal laptop
